Operations Strategist at the Swedish Parliament Administration
The Swedish Parliament Administration is an authority tasked with supporting the work of the parliament. Approximately 700 politically neutral employees work at the Swedish Parliament Administration with many different types of tasks.
Do you want to work at the heart of Swedish democracy and contribute to developing the operations that support the work of the parliament? We are now looking for an operations strategist to strengthen the property and service department in its work to drive and coordinate strategic and operational assignments from a clear holistic perspective. As an operations strategist, you will have an independent and varied assignment where you both lead development work and strengthen our administrative processes.
The position is located within the property and service department, which is primarily responsible for caring for, preserving, and developing the parliament's buildings and collections of art objects, as well as managing internal services. The department consists of four units with approximately 140 employees.
Your Responsibilities
- You provide qualified support to the department's managers in developing operations at both strategic and operational levels.
- You are responsible for the development and follow-up of strategies and policies.
- You coordinate the department's operational planning and follow-up.
- You participate in and drive cross-functional development initiatives within and between departments.
- You lead workshops, conduct analyses, write reports, and prepare decision-making materials and presentations.
- You support the department in administrative tasks, such as release cases and coordinate and follow up on preparation and sharing documents.
As an operations strategist, you will work broadly with everything from qualified management support and coordination of investigations and strategic issues to operational planning and implementation. An important function is collaboration – both with the units and sections within the department and with other departments within the Swedish Parliament Administration as well as external actors. You are expected to provide ongoing support, including through structured environmental analysis. You report to the department head.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
- has a couple of years of experience leading operational development, results follow-up, project management, or similar
- has an academic background suitable for the assignment or other experience deemed equivalent
- has experience working with investigations, roadmaps, strategies, and policies
- is accustomed to working with administrative support, handling and analyzing data, developing materials, writing reports, and preparing decision-making materials and presentations
- can structure and prioritize your work among several parallel ongoing assignments
- has experience in both strategic and operational governance
- has good communication skills and can express yourself very well in both speech and writing.
It is advantageous if you have experience working within public organizations. It is also advantageous if you have experience in several of the department's areas of responsibility and experience in diary management.
As an operations strategist with us, you will thrive if you are a driven and innovative person who is not afraid to question traditional approaches. You have a strong service mindset, are curious, and have a desire to get to know the operations to understand what needs exist. Since the role has many points of contact, you need to be both communicative and receptive, as well as have the ability to collaborate and inspire trust. You also need to be meticulous and quality-conscious in your working methods. Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities.
The employment is placed in a security class, which in this case requires Swedish citizenship. We welcome applicants with diverse experiences and backgrounds.
